NEW GUNDAM SERIES – CASTING CALL FOR ENGLISH-SPEAKING VOICE ACTORS IN JAPAN

PROJECT: GUNDAM: Requiem for Vengeance

RATE: ￥10,000 Per Hour – An invoice will be requested after completion of the performance, and payment will be made at the end of the following month. Travel will not be reimbursed.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 12:00 NOON – FRIDAY, AUGUST 11

RECORDING DATE: 1 day the week of August 21st (Tentative)

RECORDING LOCATION: Tokyo, Japan (In-person studio recording)

AUDITION TYPE: AUDIO SUBMISSION ONLY

ROLES: Mob Characters and Walla – We are looking for 20 additional VO cast members of ALL genders to play PILOTS, SOLDIERS, and MECHANICS in the upcoming GUNDAM series. These are BIT PART / UNDER-FIVE roles will all be in English. We are accepting voice actors with various accents, but actors must be able to deliver performances fluently in English. We will also need voice actors to perform walla (group chatter) for the series as well.

VOCAL AGE RANGE: 20 - 40 years old (this is for the SOUND of your voice, not your actual age)

SUBMISSION DETAILS: Please record the 3 scenarios on the PDF linked below (SOLDIER, PILOT, and MECHANIC), including both the DIALOGUE and characters’ EFFORTS/EXERTIONS (grunting, sighing, etc; VERY important for this audition). If possible, submit all three scenarios in a single audio file with a brief pause between each.

PERFORMANCE AND RECORDING NOTES: This new series is taking a very realistic approach with all the voice acting. Performances should be true to life and genuine, NOT over-the-top or comical. Think Saving Private Ryan and Top Gun: Maverick.

While we do not expect everyone to record with studio-quality mics for the audition, please be sure to record in a quiet room so we can hear your performance clearly. DO NOT add any music or sound sound effects to your submission. We want to hear your performance only. Also, please DO NOT add additional lines. These scenarios are not from the actual script, but are similar in tone to the parts we need.

The recording studio we will use is very well known and has 24 hour video surveillance on the premises and in the recording studios as well as on-site security officers.
