こんにちは、日本工学院専門学校放送芸科です。
２年次卒業制作としてアートフィルムを制作することになりました。男性キャスト1名をオーディションにて決めさせて頂きたいと思っています。

＜あらすじ＞
芸術家を目指す女の子。先の見えなさや自分の好きなことをずっと続けていくことへの苦悩で絵が描けなくなる。そこで、目に入ったヴァン・ゴッホの本を何気なく手に取る。そこで、ゴッホの人生が流れ込んでくる。ゴッホ自身も世界のいろんなものを見て感じ葛藤絶望を感じながらも、それすらも絵に起こす衝動に囚われる。そんなゴッホの心情世界に触れた少女自身が考えることとは。

＜企画意図＞
「芸術とは正解のない不安定なもので、創作を続けることには常に苦労や葛藤が付き纏うと思っています。評価されない恐怖や創作を続けることへの不安。そして生涯を通して苦労しながらも描くことをやめられなったゴッホの人生と感情を自分なりに再解釈したいと思いました。」

# Casting Call for an Art Film (Graduation Project)

Hello,

We are students from the Broadcasting and Film Department at **Nippon Engineering College** (Japan).

As part of our second-year graduation project, we are producing an art film and are currently seeking **one male actor** through an audition process.

We would be grateful if you would consider appearing in our film.

## Synopsis

The story follows a young woman who dreams of becoming an artist. Overwhelmed by uncertainty about her future and the struggle of continuing to pursue what she loves, she loses the ability to paint.

One day, she casually picks up a book about **Vincent van Gogh**, and through it she begins to experience his life and emotions.

Like the young woman, Van Gogh struggled with despair, conflict, and the overwhelming emotions he felt toward the world around him. Yet despite his suffering, he was driven by an irresistible urge to transform those feelings into paintings.

As she immerses herself in Van Gogh's emotional world, the young woman begins to question the meaning of art, passion, and the act of creation.

## Director's Statement

"Art is inherently uncertain—there is no single correct answer. I believe that continuing to create always comes with struggle, doubt, and inner conflict. There is the fear of not being recognized, and the anxiety of dedicating one's life to creative work.

Through this film, I hope to reinterpret Vincent van Gogh's life and emotions in my own way, focusing on his lifelong hardships and his irresistible need to continue painting despite them."

The role consists entirely of **physical acting** without dialogue.

Examples include:

* Painting on a canvas
* Expressing emotional breakdowns and moments of madness through movement and physical performance

### Desired Appearance

* Caucasian / Western appearance

### Notes

* Applicants should have a basic understanding of Japanese and be able to communicate in everyday situations. (A Japanese language certificate is **not** required.)
* Nationality does **not** matter. We are simply looking for someone whose appearance matches the image of Vincent van Gogh.
* Some scenes involve paint getting on your hands and face.

# Audition Details

The audition will be held **in person**.

Applicants will be asked to perform several simple physical acting exercises.

The specific audition material will be explained on the day.

**Please note:** This role contains **no spoken dialogue**. Acting will rely entirely on physical performance and expression.
